Chatham Club - Hastings

What does Chatham Club Provide?
  • Open 5 days a week, closed weekends and public holidays
  • A day programme for people with a diagnosis of Dementia delivering activities which stimulate the mind and maintain good brain health.
  • Physical and social programmes developed around members abilities and interests.
Meals:
  • Morning and afternoon tea is provided.
  • Two course cooked meal provided at club.
  • We cater to any special dietary requirements, e.g. diabetic.
  • Members are welcome to bring their own lunch.
    Venue:
    • Two buildings with a home like environment located in a residential area, secure environment.
    • Grounds are large to encourage activities outdoors
    • We have a third purpose built building for meetings and activities
    • The large decked and paved outdoor areas to enjoy
    Attending Chatham Club:
    If you are interested in attending the Chatham Club please phone for details. You are welcome to visit the club at any time. Funding options are available and will be discussed with you as appropriate.If you meet the DHB funding criteria, there will be no charge.

      Mahana Club - Napier

      What Does Mahana Provide?
      • Mahana is open five days a week (closed at weekends and public holidays).
      • A safe, supportive and stimulating environment for people with Dementia
      • The day is structured
      • Different activity programmes each day
      • Cognitive activities which are designed to stimulate the mind
      • Physical and social programmes around members' abilities and interests
      Meals:
      • Morning and afternoon tea is provided.
      • Two course cooked meal provided at club.
      • We cater to any special dietary requirements, e.g. diabetic.
      • Members are welcome to bring their own lunch.
      Kiwi Gems:
      A specialised activity group for people with younger onset dementia.This group meets weekly and the goal is to have fun! Activities are out and about in the community and planned with club member input. Past activities have included:
      • Ten pin bowling
      • Gym sessions
      • Movies, Museum, Galleries
      • Beach clean ups
      • Local walking tracks
      What to Bring:
      • A sunhat for summer days.
      • An extra layer of clothing would be useful for colder days and outings e.g. Jacket.
      • Lunch time medication must be prescribed and blister packed, including Panadol.(Staff will remind members to take them.)
      • Money is not required for club days; however, occasionally a small fee may be required for outings.
      • Wifi is available so bring your device
      Venue:
      • A purpose built, secure environment.
      • The building is a home in a residential area.
      • Grounds are large to encourage activities outdoors, including; gardening and lawn sports.
      • We have a peaceful outdoor room to enjoy some quiet time, reading etc
      • The large deck is used to enjoy the sunshine and the BBQ area.
      Attending Mahana:
      You are welcome to visit the club at any time or just call to find out about the service. Funding options are available and will be discussed with you as appropriate.If you meet the DHB funding criteria, there will be no charge.
